Software QA & interface prototypes
How product teams use clearly fictional document layouts to test interfaces, validate flows and demonstrate features without real customer data.
Modern financial, HR and utility applications frequently need to display or accept document-shaped content. Using production customer data in design, development or QA environments creates privacy, security and compliance problems. Novelty layouts provide the visual and structural realism the team needs while keeping every field invented.
Common use cases
- UI prototypes that show how a statement, bill or payslip will appear inside an app
- QA test data for upload, OCR, parsing and display features
- Design-system documentation that illustrates document components
- Stakeholder demos that must look realistic without exposing live data
- Accessibility and layout testing across different screen sizes
Why fictional data is better for testing
Invented names, account numbers and amounts let teams create controlled scenarios (edge-case balances, long descriptions, multi-page statements) that would be difficult or unethical to produce from real records. The permanent fictional markings also make it obvious, even in screenshots, that the material is not a genuine customer document.
Ordering for product work
Select “Software or UI prototype” as the project use. Describe the interface context, required fields and any specific visual constraints in the requirements box. We supply designs that remain clearly marked as fictional and suitable for internal tooling and demos.
