Novelty use only · Not genuine documents Every design is clearly marked as fictional

Film, theatre & prop use

How production teams can use novelty document designs as props while keeping the fictional nature clear and the production legally safe.

Scripts and stage directions frequently call for a bank statement, a utility bill, a payslip or a tax form to appear on camera or on stage. Using a real document creates privacy and legal problems. A well-made novelty design gives the visual realism the scene needs without those risks.

What production teams usually need

  • A layout that reads as authentic from a typical viewing distance
  • Invented names, addresses and figures that match the story world
  • Visible but unobtrusive fictional-use markings that can be framed out or accepted as part of the prop
  • Print-ready files that hold up under lighting and camera resolution

Disclosed productions only

These designs are intended for productions where the audience understands (or can reasonably be expected to understand) that the paperwork is part of a fictional narrative. They are not for situations in which a third party might believe the document is genuine evidence.

Working with fictional markings

Every design carries permanent fictional-use labelling. In most cases the marking can be positioned so that it does not interfere with the shot, or it can be accepted as a deliberate design choice. Removing the marking is not permitted and undermines the protective purpose of the product.

Ordering for a production

Select “Film, theatre or photography production” as the project use. In the requirements field, describe the scene context, preferred visual style and any story-specific invented details you need. We will prepare a clearly fictional design that supports the production without creating real-world verification risk.
